It sits in the useful middle: better built than stock, far quicker than a custom shop, and manufactured close enough that lead times behave.

In detail
Fabuwood cabinetry
Fabuwood is a semi-custom manufacturer based in New Jersey, which is a practical advantage before anything else: shorter and more predictable lead times than lines shipping across the country, and replacement or additional pieces that can be obtained later without a three-month wait. The construction is plywood box rather than particleboard, with soft-close doors and drawers as standard across the ranges rather than as an upgrade line on the quote.
What you give up against a custom shop is dimensional freedom — it comes in increments, so a run may finish with a filler and tall ceilings may need a soffit or a stacked upper rather than a single door to the top. What you gain is cost and time. For most kitchens in most houses that trade is the right one, and we fit the line to the room at design stage so the increments fall where they are least visible. Where the room genuinely will not take them, we will tell you that custom is the honest answer instead.

Questions
Asked most aboutfabuwood cabinetry
Is Fabuwood good quality cabinetry?
For semi-custom, yes — plywood boxes rather than particleboard, soft-close hardware as standard, and a finish that holds up in a working kitchen. It is not a custom shop and does not pretend to be: it comes in fixed increments and the dimensional freedom is limited. Within those limits it is well made and well priced.
How long does Fabuwood cabinetry take to arrive?
Usually weeks rather than the months a custom shop needs, helped by the manufacturing being in New Jersey. We still order as soon as the elevations are signed off, because cabinetry lead time is what sets a kitchen schedule regardless of how short it is.
