A good window installed badly fails exactly like a bad one. The value of a well-documented product is that there is no excuse for guessing.

In detail

Andersen windows

Andersen is one of the lines we specify and install most often for New Jersey homes. The practical reasons are unglamorous: broad availability of sizes and configurations, a composite and clad range that holds up in our climate, replacement parts that remain obtainable years later, and — the part installers care about — clear, published installation and flashing instructions for each series. Where a manufacturer documents the sequence properly, there is no argument about how the unit should have gone in.

We follow that sequence rather than improvising around it: sill pan first, unit set and fastened to the published pattern, jamb flashing lapping the pan, head flashing lapping the jambs and tucked under the barrier above, every lap in shingle order. We will also tell you where another line is the better fit for your house or budget. We install Andersen because the product earns it, not because a badge obliges us to recommend it over everything else.

Questions

Asked most aboutandersen windows

Which Andersen series is right for my house?

It depends on exposure, on whether you want wood on the interior, and on budget. The clad-wood series suit a house where the interior sash will be seen and stained; the composite series are the lower-maintenance answer and perform very well in our climate. We size and specify per opening after the survey rather than quoting one series across a whole house.

Do you install other window brands?

Yes. We specify from the house and the budget rather than from one manufacturer, and we will price an alternative line beside an Andersen quote where it genuinely suits you better. What does not change between brands is the flashing discipline — that is ours, not theirs.
